Im looking for some easy songs to learn on bass but I dont know to any songs I can learn the tabs for. I like classic rock. Stuff like the Beatles and Queen etc. If you could recomend some easy bass lines i could learn that would be great.
Hey George, I’ve been playing bass for a few months but i cant seem to find some fairly hard songs. Could you please recomend a few songs to me? that would be great. Bye
There could be a few reasons why the strings hit the frets when playing over the fretboard.
1. The neck is convex
2. The action is too low for such a playing technique
3. You are not making the strings vibrate parallel to the fretboard
4. You are plucking too hard
5. A combination of any of the above
If none of these apply, I suggest you get someone knowledgeable to take a look.
hello george,
I’ve been playing the bass for about 1/2 year now and your videos were really helpfull to me. But I have a question that has been bothering me for a while. my fav bassists like geezer butler, JPJ, scott reeder, etc. they all pluck very close to or on the fretboard. when I try this, my amp amplifies the awful sound of the strings hitting the frets. it’s just ugly ! I’ve tried playing in all kind of ways but it still give this bad sound. Am I doing something wrong or isit my bass?
yea the reason i asked is cuz ive been tryin to learn that stuff, but i have no musical backround and its still a lil hazy. but a youtube vid about that stuff would be awesome!
My Bass Lessons Online eCourse goes through chords, chord tones, and how to use them effectively in a very step-by-step manner. This would be too much to post on You Tube (I think).
All I could (and probably will) do is post a video with a synopsis about chords and how they apply to bass.
Understanding chords is one of the most useful tools a bass player can have, so you are certainly on the right track!

Hello Nathan
Try “Another One Bites the Dust” and “Come Together”. Learn them by ear and not with tabs.
Bass of Luck!

Thanks for commenting xD.
When I lived in Europe I visited Spain many many times. I always gained lots of excellent and influential music vibes there!
Enjoy whatever happens!
