This is the first Chuck Berry guitar lesson I have produced. No guitar player has had bigger influence on me. If this proves to be popular, I will produce more. Please rate and comment and let me know what you think. I would like to do more ‘Licks and Tricks’ and a ‘Strictly Rhythm’- a video of assorted Chuck Berry rhythms – the right way. Have fun!

cseppento -
He’s paying over what is essentially a minor pentatonic with added 3rds/ 6ths/ 7ths. If you know the minor pent scale just work around it and you will find lots of cool licks by incorparating bends, slides, hammer ons, etc over just those notes.

It’s very good, but could anyone send me tabs or sheets about them? It’s hard to figure out what you’re doing. Anyway, these are great basics to build up own solos. Thanks!

@Aliestwill – Thank you. There are as many different ways to approach teaching as there are teachers. Most people with half a brain already know that my lessons are geared towards improving your skills, NOT to teach you to play. Some people are just too ignorant to know the difference.

Even if the lessons weren’t great – which they are – its worth watching just to look at and listen to that guitar. Man, I’m envious.

@scottmc59 – Apparently the guitar is way over your head. You may want to pursue the kazoo. Can you hum, Scott?

man, help a beginner just learning on a little acoustic. Talk a little, or add a text note to let me know where you start. I have to go back and forth ten times just to figure out where you’re starting and what fret etc.

There are several lessons already posted.
