Press the button marked “MIDI” top right of the screen. Make sure you turn off the computer midi keyboard button at the top right of the screen as well, or it will continue to use your computer keyboard as the midi controller.

how do you get into the midi mapping view?

that’s what I’m wondering

I got the midi mapping down, but when I record and mess around with the knobs on my controller that change frequency and the wobble speed, it dosent record those changes! Any ideas what I’m doing wrong?

So I’m having trouble recording tempo changes of my bassline into the midi clip. I can change it live but it seems whatever I have my instrument (simpler) set to it is what the midi clip plays. I want to be able to manipulate the beats 1/8-1/4 and and so on of my bass line w/out having to do it live with a midi assigned knob, and so when I play the clip it will play with the changes recorded. anyone?

He is using ableton, but you can use FL. Actually all you need is a VSTi. Use whatever you are used to or like. The key part of a wobble is directing the LFO to the frequency cutoff. Easy as that. All the other parts in the video describe how to get a generic dubstep bass sound.

get any old synth vsti and make your own! it’s piss easy.

You can use audacity to generate a tone based on either sine, square or sawtooth waveforms.
February 10th, 2010 at 11:02 am
You can download Audacity for free to generate these types of tones.

I use my keyboard to test the sound for the bassline (a s d f g etc) but I started working on some drums and now I cannot test the sounds on impulse like before. Anyone know how I can fix this?
