Acoustic guitar piece in open D minor tuning (Own song)

A fingerstyle instrumental called : “Across the open water” . I have a painting above my bed of a little man flying a little plane above the open water. There are a lot of clouds and the weather is stormy. Looks like he’s flying to unkown places. This is my soundtrack to that. Hope you’ll enjoy these waves in minor. Hate to say ; but I probally get back to this one to make it a bit longer and look what time is gonna do with it. But I thought I share this first. Acoustic guitar lesson : Fingerstyle patterns ( Harp finger pattern 1 )

Here’s a fingerstyle pattern which only uses the thumb and index finger of the right hand. It’s split up in two videos. This is video 1 and video 2 will feature some variations (Using more fingers) to this harp finger pattern. It’s split up in different exercises. I provide my tabs and lessons for free and I don’t want any money for it. But if you like them I would greatly appreciate a small donation for Haiti or one of the organizations I support (info can be found on my site). Tablature for these exercises : www.myspace.com/heronymusic I always get excited from new fingerstyle patterns which gives me a lot of new ideas. I also noticed my fingers are getting more supple after playing them. I think a song sounds more diverse with some knowledge and use of right hand patterns. Hopefully these lessons will give you new inspiration and guitar fun. It’s split up in 6 exercises and they will guide you step by step. Please let me know if you have any tips or feedback concerning these lessons. Level : Beginner/intermediate Video 2 and more fingerstyle pattern lessons are coming up! Adam Rafferty – “Somewhere” – West Side Story – Solo Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitar

I hope you enjoy this version of “Somewhere” – composed by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. I first heard this song on the Oscar Peterson Trio album “West Side Story”. In learning it recently I investigated the actual movie version of the song, and then found a killer Barbara Streisand video version as well. What a tune. From the Movie: www.youtube.com Barbara Streisand: www.youtube.com And yes, it is supposed to be pretty – but with a dark edge….not just syrupy and pretty! Check out the story and you’ll know why… It’s part of my ongoing musical quest to play beautiful music on guitar, but for an audience bigger than just musicians, and older than me…so – what I am saying is that this is a tune my mom would know :-) Enjoy! – Adam Free Lessons and Tabs Available Every Month at www.adamrafferty.com Connect With Adam Now! www.myspace.com adamrafferty.wordpress.com

Adam Rafferty – “Fly Me To The Moon” – Solo Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitar

I hope you enjoy this version of “Fly Me To the Moon”. It was inspired by the version sung by Frank Sinatra with the Count Basie Orchestra backing him. My goal in life, always, is to get a Count Basie foot stompin’ type groove on the guitar! FYI – The final chorus is melodically inspired by my favorite jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery.
