** Dance Little Liar Cover – Arctic Monkeys – Humbug ** TWITTER: twitter.com FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com Well… what an amazing song, hope I did it some justice. I’ve seen them kick off a couple of live gigs with this song and well… you should have been there! Also, it’s been one year since I put up my first YouTube video. Just wanted to take the opportunity to thank all who’ve commented, rated and subbed. Much love folks! ** TABS USED ** (I differed from these tabs here and there, but these will get you through most of it) Rhythm and Lead Guitar: www.ultimate-guitar.com Drums: www.911tabs.com
“Matt has an amazing technique for one so young, and this was a superb performance. It would have been great to see an original composition, and maybe next year Matt will return with something special. Work on your composition, get out there and play some gigs and we shall see you next year!”…
** Arctic Monkeys – Crying Lightning Cover – Humbug ** TWITTER: twitter.com FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com Please comment/like/subscribe, much love. I feel quite happy with how this video turned out and as with every video it highlights somewhere I can improve as a musician. I’m focusing more on technique lately rather than trying to improve my skill. I’m hoping to get my drumming a lot smoother and more fluid. Any tips on this are much appreciated. Nevertheless, thanks for clicking here and as always, any feedback/questions are always appreciated, enjoy. part3, with backing track for practice. Some general soloing tips. – relax, don’t rush, space is good. – sing in your mind, or sing along – don’t break it up into separate scales and chords, connect them – try to create some counter motion, eg if the bass goes down, make the melody go up etc.
FULL COURSE: truefire.com Join truefire for free! – www.truefire.com On Twitter – http On Facebook – www.truefire.com Introduction Welcome to Slap, Frail and Thump. This course is about adding percussive techniques to your guitar playing, which will work on acoustic and electric guitar and in a solo or band setting. These techniques are used by players like John Mayer, Dave Matthews, James Taylor, Janis Ian, JJ Cale, Greg Brown, Rodney Crowell and many others. Slapping and frailing will get you a steady beat and solid groove while you're singing, without the need of a drummer or a bass player. If you are using it in a band setting, you'll be able to play strong intros and backup parts. But with these techniques you'll also be able to play melodies on top of the groove instead of just banging away chords. What these lessons are not about, is guitar pyro techniques. Even players with limited fingerstyle experience can add slapping and frailing to their bag of tricks. We'll start with relatively simple grooves and in about 170 exercises and 12 original songs we'll work towards very intricate and challenging accompaniments. The first percussive technique we'll get into is the palm slap.
Here’s how to play Outkast’s Hey Ya, the acoustic version by Matt Weddle. Here’s some pointers for begining pick players. But I’ll say again, you should practice playing with AND without a pick. Just have fun and always play like a champion.
