AWESOME JAZZ AND BLUES GUITAR!!

These tracks gave me some awesome ideas. They are from the library of tracks that Pete Anderson made for Guitar Center’s King of the Blues competition from this past year, of which I was also a contestant. Although blues calls for a certain “type” of player, there are a few players over the past year that i’ve studied that have adapted more of a jazz flare to standard blues progressions. Since 7th chords open themselves up to so many possibilities, it’s easier for me to make decisions on the guitar that I end up enjoying. I will always like a flat 7. Flat 7 is MY number.

Chicken Picking Country Guitar Lesson, Country Guitar Solo

This is great lick because you only have to learn Two Chord Forms – and you can extend it out over 12 – 24 bars! Big rewards for just a little work! In the Key of C, and the forms can be used over C, F, G, even D for instant solo work. Got the first part from an Albert Lee instructional set. Played on a B-Bender Telecaster through a Dr. Z Amp.

Guitar Lesson: Country & Bluegrass Chord Strumming

www.creativeguitarstudio.com Andrew Wasson of Creative Guitar Studio answers a viewers question: Q: I watched your country guitar seminar video on youtube and was wondering if you could do more of a beginners level video all about playing basic country bluegrass strumming. I just seem to only strum guitar with one or two basic strum patterns and could really use something fresh in my playing. Thanks, Jake – New Albany, IN. Basic beginner level strumming is a great way to develop the popular open position chords on guitar. And, the country/bluegrass style works fantastic to help players achieve this. I’ve composed a very straight-forward piece in the country rhythm style. Hopefully it will help you learn a few new techniques to use in your own playing! The complete lesson article for this video, (along with a powertab chart of the chord changes plus a FREE MP3 audio play-along track of the progression heard at the start of the video), is available on the Creative Guitar Studio website.
